We adoped a lovely boy - Yeaa!!!
Aaron was born on February 18, 2009 at 8:45AM and is a healthy beautiful boy.

We were so lucky to have an amazing birth mother who we built an amazing relationship with. She really is a special person who performed one of the kindest acts possible.
It took us a year of hard work, heartbreak and sorting through real birth mothers and scam artists, but in the end our little mirracle happened and we feel that we are truely blessed.
Michele was there at the birth - once again thanks to the amazing birth mother that we were so lucky to have met. After spending a week out of state, we are now back in Washington and getting used to having baby Aaron as a part of our familly. This is such an exciting time for us!
Well, it's been quite a summer for us!
First of all, we almost adopted a little 5 year old girl - however, that fell through.

It took us some time to make the decision that we wanted to adopt her, but once we decided we were engaged fully in the process and excited about the prospect of bringing home a little girl. I even fixed up the bedroom and painted it pink in anticipation.
we had had some doubts whether to go into this adoption since the girl had attachement disorder syndrome, which can be difficult to deal with and very testing on the adoptive parents. However, we felt that we were the ideal couple for this, we are strong enough in our marriage and relationship to weather any storm and could provide a perfect environment for her.
Unfortunatly, my daughter, Sharon, fell very ill while we were vactioning in Mexico and we had to invest a lot of time, emmotional energy and resources in getting her better and felt that we couldn't take on a five year old with special needs at the same time.
Sharon is doing much better and has just about fully recovered. For us, as parents, it seems to take longer to recover from her near death experience, but we are doing very well now and very excited about the prospect of adopting.
So, hear we are; still looking for a baby to adopt. It seems to be taking a long time, but we have had many contacts with birth mothers. Sometimes we talk to them for a month or more and then we don't hear from them again. This is the difficult part.
Well, enough for now. I'll be back on line to update this blog very soon. Hoepfully with good news of an adoption :)
Gideon.
