Dear Birth Mother,
Thank you for reading our letter and taking the time to consider whether we are the family that you want for your child. We recognize that it takes a special kind of love and selflessness to consider entrusting your child to adoptive parents.
I want to tell you about our family. First of all you should know that my husband and I have longed for a child, but despite all our best efforts, cannot have one naturally. We want very much to provide a warm, nurturing environment for a child and hopefully this profile will give you some insight into who we are and the kind of parents we hope to be.
Friends and family have described us as kind, honest and loyal people. Both Gideon (Gid) and I grew up in close-knit families and we both have parents we are close to, can talk to and confide in – parents who were there for us no matter what when we were younger and are here for us even today – as we are for them. We both are lucky that we had family and friends who were warm and loving – and we want very much to pass on that unconditional love to our child.
We have created a home that is warm, full of lively conversation, laughter and creativity. Our friends love to visit us – and we love playing host whether it’s our annual spring barbeque or Autumn/Halloween party – we love to entertain with good food and conversation. We both like to think we have a sense of humor (at least we think we are funny) – and while we are responsible people – we do like to relax and have fun. Fun for us is hiking, entertaining, seeing movies, traveling to new and different places, going to museums, and sometimes just relaxing and watching television.
Gid and I met over four years ago and have been married for nearly three years. We live in beautiful Kirkland, Washington, just outside of Seattle and near the shores of Lake Washington. We have a lovely 4-bedroom house. Our backyard is big – perfect area for kids to run, play and dream.
Surrounding our house is a lush garden that Gideon has nurtured – he loves to garden. The neighborhood we live in has many families with children and we live across the street from an elementary school and near by Lake Washington.
We feel that we have a lovely life and the only thing missing is a child to love, care for and to offer a world of opportunities. This is the one thing that we pray and wish for above everything else.
We thank you again for reading our profile and we look forward to speaking with you soon.
